Pinoys go to Twitter to rant about everything, and one of the favorite things we like to complain about is the weather. We do this in hopes na makarating sa mga ulap ang mga tweets natin at magbago ang panahon kapag nabasa na nila ito. But I don’ think the clouds has an idea of what Twitter is. Or maybe they do, they just don’t like to signup for it because they’re too sick of hearing birds “tweet” all day. And because it’s summer, my twitter feed is full of people complaining about the summer heat. Sabi nga ng @GMANews So para hindi na mag-init ang ulo natin dahil sa sobrang init ng panahon, let’s read some tweets I found about the Philippine summer heat that will help us all cool down our tempers. 8. @WagShunga 7. @akoposimarcelo 6. @Pinoy_Quotes 5. @ShitHappensDre 4. @parengjoserizal 3.@Facebuko 2. @BoyBanatero 1. @AkosiDeeeee

Blah.PH

When a Beauty Queen says something on National TV against homosexuality, and goes to Twitter to reiterate it. She must be ready to face a lot of hate tweets. And that’s exactly what Miriam Quiambao got after tweeting this: Minutes after, “Homosexuality” became the trending topic in the twittersphere. As expected, there were lots of debates. Christian supporters defended her and a lot of bashing tweets from LGBTs poured in. As Pinoys starts to give their opinions about Homosexuality, the next 7 Tweets are the ones that really stood out for me. They also, in a way, reflects how I feel. 7. @5pesostory I too felt bad for Miriam, and although I don’t necessarily agree with her statement, the backlash that she got for it was too much. And I’m not pertaining to some “disagreeing tweets” that she received. I’m referring to those tweets that went way below the belt. As I’ve searched the twittersphere, I’ve seen a lot of tweets that even the LGBT community won’t be proud of. Which brings me to the next tweet on the list. 6. @CallMeRal Minsan kasi, pakiramdam natin minamaliit tayo ng mga taong against ang paniniwala sa atin. And as a human instinct we lift our self up by bringing the other person down. Kaya ang maayos sanang debate nauuwi sa disrespect. 5 . @CarlitoSia Speaking of respect, I believe that we can agree to disagree and respect each other despite our differences. I picked this tweet because it sounded like a contestant’s answer in a Beauty Pageant. Ang ironic no? 4. @PingMedina Isa pang ironic, sabi nga ni Ping, LGBT community is promoting “Love For All”. So instead of hating those who condemn, why not show them unconditional love. Wouldn’t that have a bigger chance of changing their minds? 3. @ToffyMenChavez Nandun na tayo, Miriam Quiambao is speaking in behalf of her beliefs and all, but the purpose behind it is not clear. If she wanted to persuade people to believe the same thing, then she is definitely not doing it correctly. She has a lot to learn when it comes to evangelism. I’m sure her pastors will teach her how to spread the word of God in the right way. 2. @robert_julius Numerous studies have shown that lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth have a higher rate of suicide attempts than do heterosexual youth. The Suicide Prevention Resource Center synthesized these studies and estimated that between 30 and 40% of LGBT youth, depending on age and sex groups, have attempted suicide. Although, It is impossible to know the exact suicide rate of LGBT youth because sexuality and gender minorities are often hidden and even unknown, particularly in this age group. (wikipedia) Kaya naiintidihan naman natin kung bakit ganun na lang makapag-react ang mga activists di ba? 1. @inwhiteshoes Berna is a Catholic and these words from her is what everybody else needs to realize. The LGBT community knows how religious groups feels about them. They’ve heard it, read it and felt...

Blah.PH
